Restore from hard drive

  1. last year

    Hi Admin,

Is there any way to do image restore from a locally attached hard drive to a physical machine?

Also, is there any way to edit files on the image after capture? ( like Ghost files can be opened and edited via ghost explorer)

    Regards,
    Jithin Sebastian

Some progress has been made on restoring an image from a local hard drive, but nothing has been implemented yet. It will never be a fully offline restore though. Communication with the server will always be needed, but the image could be transferred locally. That is the current plan.

You cannot edit the images that were captured in block mode. If you use the file mode, you can mount the image using standard wim tools.

Hi! A follow up question on this feature request.. Is the offline image loading function still a no-go?
Just thinking that USB generator could be forced to push a single image into HW, generating the "single USB loader stick" from the WebUi.

Using CD in a Workshop environment, loading 15 different images into maybe 40 PC in a week, sometimes the request for offline loading (on a vessel, or remote location) is raised, we have created a "Laptop CD Server" for the purpose, but a USB/HDD option would have been PERFECT!!

Thank you for this genius tool! =)
