can't mount smb share windows

  1. last year

I am trying to use a Buffalo Terastation as storage for my Clonedeploy server. I looked in the logs and found this.

    ** Displaying Boot Arguments **

It looks like you smb users don't have the correct permissions on the share. Did you give them permission to read and write?

  3. Everyone has permissions on all devices, totally confused. I tried another fresh install, now it wont even find the local share. instead it wants to look for storage/images/. Is there a guide to properly set this up???

Everyone has permission on all devices doesn't really make much sense.
Your specific distribution point rw and ro user need permission, therefore those users must exist on your smb device.

/storage/images is the correct way to refer to the share on the client side, nothing to do with server naming.

There are many posts about this on the forums and this guide.
    http://clonedeploy.org/docs/changing-the-image-storage-location/

  5. Ok so if i am using the default storage location from a fresh install I need to give rw and ro users modify or full permission to the cd_dp folder and the folder inside?

No that would be done during install, unless there was a problem creating the users during the install. Was the fresh install done on a new server? Can you attach the install log?

  7. The error I am getting: mounting smb share
then it says an error has occurred
    could not mount smb share

This is a fresh install ro and rw have full permission to the proper folders

  8. For some reason it did not create an install log. Sorry i'm have a rough time with this. the software seems super simple to use.

  9. here is the log

  10. Here's the log from the last deploy I tried

  11. Ok I have tried everything in this post too. I am stumped! Can anyone give a clue as to what I am missing.
