1.3 Web UI login issue

  1. 9 months ago

I have tried clean installing 4 times and for the life of me i can't log into the web UI with clonedeploy/password? I even tried a tip i saw on here with editing the password for user clonedeploy in the database but still nothing? Am i missing something? Is there a new username and password? I'm running this on server 2008 R2 in case that matters. Thanks!

Is there any error message? How about logs?
They are in program files\clonedeploy\application\private\logs and
    program files\clonedeploy\frontend\private\logs

  3. Judging by the logs and from what i see in the database it looks to me like it has something to do with the user token?

2017-09-27 13:20:00,456 [23] DEBUG FrontEndLog Error With Token API: System.Xml.XmlException: '"' is an unexpected token. Expecting white space. Line 1, position 50.

Also below the login button on the web UI it says "Could Not Contact Token API"

    Thanks!

What do you get from this address?
    http://localhost/clonedeploy/api/token

Sounds like it didn't install properly. Could be a server 2008 issue, not sure yet. You should be able to use iis manager to manually add the api web application inside of the clonedeploy web app.

    iis.png

Point it to the application folder instead of frontend

  7. I'm starting to think it has to be something with Server 2008 R2 not being compatible with the installer? Comparing your folder structure in IIS with the one i have it seems like i am missing folders that should be installed? I also used this guys suggestion because i ran into the same issue as him where i had to add the clonedeploy site manually in ISS because the installer never created it. Here is a screen shot on my IIS view.

Folder structure doesn't matter, my screen is from development so more folders. For some reason its nested in itself. What if you try http://localhost/clonedeploy/clonedeploy/api/token

  9. Not found

Ok, not sure at this point. I'll need to revisit the installers. So far I've only test on Win10 and server2016

  11. Ok no problem i know it's beat. I'll mess around with it more and report back if i find anything. Thanks!

I had some time to try the beta on Server 2008R2. I used a clean install with only change adding .net 4.5 and did not have any issues. Not sure where that leaves us right now.

Windows 10 (64bit), receiving the same error: Could Not Contact Token API, When going to http://10.0.0.14/clonedeploy, I cannot get http://localhost/clonedeploy to load, but IP does..

I also get a different different error when going to http://10.0.0.14/clonedeploy/api/token
    I get this:
    {"error":"unsupported_grant_type"}

Fresh install, tried 1.3.0 and also tried upgrading to 1.3.1
Tried 3 or 4 time to reinstall... Any ideas, please? I am dying to try this out!
Also just tried 1.3.2, same results.

Is this a clean install of Win10?
Did you use any special characters in your passwords?

You can try walking through the manual install.
    http://clonedeploy.org/docs/manual-windows-installation/

  15. Not a clean install, no. It is my desktop here at home. I wanted to get a good feel for the program before trying to go into work Monday morning and setting it up in a production environment. I did use an ! in the each of the passwords during setup...

As far as I know the ! should be safe. The automated installer is very basic, and seems to work best on clean installs. That's why I created the manual install tutorial. Perhaps you could try starting a new vm with hyper v on you win10 machine, if it's pro.

  17. I am just going to give it a go on my fresh install server 2016 box I have waiting for me on monday. Hopefully all will go well. I will let you know how it goes!

  18. So, clean install on Server 2016 (Fresh Install) went smooth as butter! I will say this, I LOVE CloneDeploy! WE were using a cobbled together Ghost based solution that was really pretty unique in what we could do with it, but it was suffering from not supporting newer hardware (HP G3+ and all the rest of their new unified bios systems to name a few), and deploying a 20 gig image was taking 15-20 minutes with a unicast and 40 minutes to multicast a lab. I can successfully deploy the same image to the same PC's in 2 minutes and 4 seconds! I am yet to try the multicast, but I am optimistic! I will say that there was a bit a figuring out to do to actually get up and started, even though I thoroughly went through the documentation. Small price to pay for such a sweet program. I really cannot say enough how much I appreciate the work you have put into this! After holiday break, I will be doing the rest of my needed testing. If all goes well, expect a well deserved donation to be heading your way! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here!
