Linux: rename host

  • Hi I've a question regarding the renaming of a computer under linux. I checked the option "Change Computer Name" in the deployment options in the image settings, but i guess this just works for windows or not?

So I have to create a custom script, which writes to /etc/hostname, but how can I access or mount the image partition from a custom script?

I would be very grateful if you could help me with this 🙂

  • Each script runs once per hard drive. You just need to specify which partition you want to mount.
mkdir /mnt/linux
    mount ${hard_drive}2 /mnt/linux
where 2 is the number of the partition

  • And yes the name change is currently only implemented for Windows
