  • Hi Guys,

I am trying to upload a Windows 10 image for a Dell Latitude 5480 via On Demand and I am getting this message. I am only getting the message with this model and I do not have a password set to upload or deploy images. Please help.

    Thanks,

  • The machine didn't receive an ip, or you didn't type it in your post. It's probably missing the nic driver. What version are you on, looks slightly out of date?

  • I am using CloneDeploy 1.0.1p2 with related patches. If it did not receive the IP address, it should not pass the CloneDepply boot menu, right?

    Thanks,

  • The boot menu uses a universal nic driver for pxe booting, when it's handed over to the boot image, it then loads linux drivers and grabs and ip again. The latter looks like it's failing. I would strongly recommend upgrading to 1.2.1, but if you can't do that right now you could at least try the newest kernel.

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/clonedeploy/files/kernels/4.10.1/

Put those in your kernels folder in the tftpboot directory. Then create a new default boot menu with the new kernel selected.

  • Thank you for the quick responses, I really appreciate it. I want to upgrade to the 1.2.1 version instead, do I just install over the current version or uninstall first and then install the new one? Thanks again.

  • You need to follow the upgrade guide for each version found in the documentation.
    http://clonedeploy.org/docs/
Upgrades are incremental. You need to go to 1.1.0, then 1.2.0, then patch 1.2.1

Version 1.2.1 comes with kernel 4.9.8, you just need to recreate the boot menu after you upgrade in order to use it.

  • Thank you so much. The upgrade did the trick and I was able to upload images.
