ProxyDHCP not working

  • Worked once, and now my systems just won't receive a DHCP IP address. Same subnet and vlan.

    Server IP: 10.0.0.164
    Interface IP:10.0.0.57
DHCP on both enabled. Both have reservations on the Windows 2012 R2 DHCP server for the domain.

I receive this on the proxyDHCP program running in CMD with --debug:

    DHCPDISCOVER Request From 3CA82A816441
    Vendor Class Id 505845436C69656E743A417263683A30303030303A554E44493A303032303031

I receive this on the client:
PXE-E51: No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received.

  • What version are you using?

  •
What version are you using?
CloneDeploy 1.2.0
    proxyDHCP 2.0.2

  • On your Server 2012 DHCP server, options 60,66,and 67 are all empty?

    Yes

  • The config file looks fine, but the
server-identifier-override=10.0.0.164
should be set to the interface ip, don't think that's your issue though. What else is running on the proxydhcp server? Is there a reason you didn't install it on the CloneDeploy server.

CloneDeploy Server is running on a VM of lubuntu (with Bridging-enabled on the only network adapter). Running the VM on a Windows 7 Host system. Just seemed like a hassle to run it from within the VM and have to install Wine to run the .exe.

  • From what you are telling me everything seems correct. I think we would need a packet capture from the proxydhcp server to continue debugging.

  • So wireshark?

  • Yes.
