  • struggling to get an image to upload using linux environment. I can get it to upload in WinPE in a roundabout way.

in ipxe_efi64 i keep getting hung up on the hibernation message for my windows partition.

  • Hibernation Must Be Completely Disabled Before Resizing A Partition. From An Elevated CMD Prompt Run powercfg.exe /h off

the hiberfil.sys file does not exist anywhere in C:. I've disabled hibernation and verified it in power settings, faststartup does not appear, power settings are set to NEVER for hibernation, sleep, hybrid sleep, display, USB suspend disabled.

What else could it be that is flagging hibernation as "enabled"?

...... Shrinking NTFS Volume On /dev/sda4 (This May Take A Few Minutes)

** An Error Has Occurred **

...... Hibernation Must Be Completely Disabled Before Resizing A Partition. From An Elevated CMD Prompt Run powercfg.exe /h off

  • i set the upload option to "don't shrink volume" and it still attempts to shrink sda 4.

  • It must be there or it wouldn't say that, it checks for the existence of that file. Do you have show hidden and system files enabled so you can see it.

  • yes i have both options selected, i've done searches and the file is not there at all. for good measure i showed operating system files while i ran powercfg.exe /h off and observed the hiberfil.sys file disappear.

i do run sysprep so as a test i didn't run it and the hibernation message still appears.

I will say the log doesn't include what is displayed on the screen before the attempt to shrinking the NTFS volum /dev/sda4...

Error: the backup GPT table is not at the end of the disk, as it should be...
Warning: Not all of the space available to /dev/sda appears to be used, you can fix....
