Surface USB pxe boot

  • I'm trying to pxe boot some Surface Pros we have. We're using USB to Ethernet adapters as they don't have a NIC. I can't seem to get it to grab an ip from DHCP. It's been working flawlessly for everything else we threw at it. Any ideas?

  • It appears that it is successfully grabbing pxeboot.0 which means that it got an ip. My guess is that you are not using efi boot loader. In the admin pxe settings you need to switch to ipxe efi 64 and you need to disable secure boot on the surface. You may also want to look into CloneDeploy Proxy DHCP

  • Thanks as always. I will indeed look into CDP DHCP.
